Julio A. Costa is the Founder and Managing Attorney at Costa Ivone LLC, a leading Chicago personal injury and workers’ compensation law firm dedicated to helping accident victims across Illinois. Since 2015, Costa Ivone has recovered over $250 million for injured clients, and Julio has personally secured more than $75 million in settlements and verdicts during his career. He specializes in serious work injury cases, including paralysis, quadriplegia, traumatic brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, and workplace fatalities.
Under Julio’s leadership, Costa Ivone LLC has grown into a statewide injury firm with 16 experienced attorneys, 60+ support staff across five locations, delivering results for clients who deserve maximum compensation after a tragic accident.
Julio’s early career included serving as a Legislative Fellow for U.S. Senator Robert Menendez through the prestigious CHCI Public Policy Fellowship, focusing on labor law, immigration policy, and economic issues impacting the Hispanic community.
He earned his MBA (Hotchkiss Scholar) from Lake Forest Graduate School of Management, his J.D. from Chicago-Kent College of Law, and his B.A. from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
A bilingual attorney (English & Spanish), Julio currently serves as President of HLAI – Serving the Hispanic Lawyers of Illinois, advocating for diversity and inclusion in the legal profession. His commitment to excellence has earned him recognition as a Super Lawyers Rising Star (2015–2025) and NTLA Top 40 Under 40 (2018–2025). Julio also champions education by creating scholarship opportunities for future law students.
